Jesus Medina studied architecture at ETSAS, HTWG, and ETSAM. During his studies, he was an ARQUIA Foundation fellow at Abalos+Sentkiewicz in Madrid. After gaining professional experience working as an architect in Switzerland, he joined the Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture and Digital Fabrication program at ETHZ, which fostered his interest in computational design, robotics, and 3D printing. He has worked as a Research Assistant at the Chair of Digital Building Technologies (ETHZ), focusing on additive manufacturing for integrative building components. In 2017, he joined as a researcher and lecturer at the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication – Gramazio Kohler Research, where he taught foundational courses on computational design and robotic fabrication at MSc. & BSc. programmes, as well as design studios at D-ARCH. He led the basic course Computational Design III-IV (BSc.), with over 270 students, integrating computational competencies into the department's curriculum. Since Fall Semester 2024 he teaches at BFH.
Jesús Medina is an architect, researcher and educator based in Zurich.
